Group Seeking to Cancel the Parking Meter Gaining Momentum
LOS ANGELES — Following recent momentum in the cancellation of the likes of abhorrent monsters such as Dr. Seuss, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head and Paw Patrol, a group of young, heroic trailblazers recently met to discuss strategies to cancel the parking meter. “No one likes to pay for parking,” says Matilda White. “While none of us in our group actually own a car, we don’t see any reason why hard-working Americans should have to pay for parking.” One avenue the group is optimistic in taking to cancel the parking meter is through ancestry.com. The parking meter was founded by Carl Magee in Oklahoma City in 1935. “Our research indicates that Carl Magee’s grandfather’s second cousin’s stepson may have been a private in the Confederate army. If this turns out to be confirmed, it would be unfathomable for cities in the United States to continue to support the parking meter as a way to manage parking,” White continues. The group advocates citizens to write their local congress delegate to support the cancellation of the parking meter and use #canceltheparkingmeter on social media to support the cause.
