IPMI NEWS: THE PARKING PODCAST HOST WINS PARKING PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Isaiah Mouw, CAPP, LEED Green Associate, exudes passion and curiosity in peer interactions, always believing there are better ways and solutions. Isaiah has helped implement more than 35 municipal parking programs. In his tenure at Citizens Lanier Holdings, he was instrumental in helping add 15 new Municipal operations in his first year while championing the firm’s APO certification process and designation. Working with field teams, Isaiah helps ensure that Citizens delivers on its mandate for quality operations and accountability and forges strategic partnerships to obtain vendor and PARCS discounts for clients. As an advocate of professional development, education and best practices, Mouw created a monthly Municipal Best Practices series for field teams that provides a platform for industry thought leaders. He also led more than 30 fellow Citizens employees to become industry-certified. In 2012, Isaiah was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In 2014, Isaiah was awarded the Chairman’s Award from IPMI, and in 2015, he was recognized by the National Parking Association as a “40 Under 40” recipient.

Mouw is a strong supporter of parking sustainability in parking and transportation efforts. While on IPMI’s Sustainability Committee, he helped write its Framework on Sustainability. He also worked with the Green Parking Council (GPC), now Parksmart, serving on the Credentialing Committee and as chair of the Certification Committee. He has obtained his Parksmart Advisor certification and has served as an IPMI Green Star Reviewer. Mouw has authored or co-authored several chapters in parking and sustainability books, including Sustainable Parking Design & Management (2016) and A Guide to Parking (2018) among other publications.

In 2011, Mouw became the youngest legacy CAPP graduate and served on its first Job Analysis and Item Writing committees. Elected to the CAPP Board in 2017, Isaiah has contributed to several Board milestones, including its mentorship program, recertification extension guidelines, an international shift, and the inclusion of mobility. He has written and presented on behalf of the CAPP Board at multiple tradeshows and in numerous video interviews. His outreach and mentorship have inspired many colleagues to enroll in the program. In addition to his CAPP outreach, Isaiah also co-founded Young Professionals in Parking (YPIP), and he is also the creator, executive producer and host of The Parking Podcast, with a goal of furthering the education and development of young professionals.

“Our Parking Professional of the Year honorees have demonstrated extraordinary initiative, dedication, creativity, and service to their organizations, communities, and the entire parking and mobility profession,” says IPMI CEO Shawn Conrad, CAE. “They inspire us all by their example, and IPMI is delighted to recognize their service to our industry.”
